“Yee is the best family photographer I've used to this day! She has artistic eyes to capture all the precious moments of my family interaction (not to mention, I've included quite a few extended families so we were a big crowd) and her personality is very warm, down to earth and friendly; which eliminates any stress and anxiety. I cannot emphasize enough that being able to relax and feel comfortable in front of your photographer is pivotal to generating the natural, candid smiles on camera. I've experience a pitfall using a self-proclaimed "world renowned" celebrity photographer xxx located in Tustin in 2022 who showed no client care or professionalism and produced photos resembling those you can take on your iPhone with a steep price that makes you furious. Yee is the complete opposite. She is sweet, personable and most importantly, fun to work with! All of my family enjoyed the on spot experience because there was no rush, no tension, only fun!
Yee's post-photo session communication also exemplifies great customer service. She was proactive in every step of the process, I never had to reach out to her to check in. She took the initiative to keep me informed via text and phone along the way and the photos were ready before the supposed "due date" and I was delightfully surprised to receive her text on Christmas Eve that our photo gallery was ready and they looked stunning! I'm referring to the lighting, the layers of color in the sky, the sharpness of details and our natural expressions. A week later, my mother-in-law asked if Yee could smooth her wrinkles and whiten her teeth a little bit in 1 photo so she can look the best version of herself with her granddaughter, I felt bad to relay the message since I had already told Yee that we approved of all photos. But Yee responded immediately as she always does and sent us a re-edited photo in a few days and my mother-in-law was very grateful for her willingness to accommodate such request and she mentioned: "I wouldn't ask Yee if I didn't feel comfortable, it's only because I sense this is a genuinely caring person, that's why I wondered if it's possible".
Based on these positive attributes, I highly recommend Yee for any photos sessions involving your family. Her price is bit higher than xxx but it's worth all the beautiful memories you'll have for life!”

“We were lucky to find Yee on really short notice! Our party was large (15 people) and we had trouble finding a big enough studio to accommodate us all. “My review is two-part because I did professional portraits and pet portraits with Yee. Before giving specifics about each experience, I want to be clear that Yee is a MIRACLE worker. I am not photogenic, anytime I am in photos, I look and feel so awkward. Yee managed to capture so many pictures I was happy with - I wish I would have done this sooner!
Professional Portraits: It was very convenient that Yee came to me to take my headshots. She asked me a lot of questions ahead of time, such as the colors I would be wearing, how I wanted to be perceived, etc. All her questions made it really obvious that she is very attuned to small details. Using the information I shared with her, she chose an appropriate color for my background, which was nice because I have no clue what looks good! I sent her examples of headshots I liked ahead of time, and she also came with similar examples and helped me to recreate the poses. I kept telling Yee that I felt so embarrassed and awkward, but she made it easy and fun. The pictures show my genuine smiles, laughter, and confidence that Yee was giving me! Normally, I can't find a single photo I like, but after reviewing the photos she took (literally RIGHT after she took them), I couldn't decide!! I wasn't in the dark about what my photos looked like or worried that I wouldn't have any good ones, I left the session feeling excited to see them after editing. Yee was very careful to make artistic edits that weren't obvious and I appreciated that she didn't engage in super heavy editing (and if she did, she somehow made it look natural and flawless). I used to be embarrassed to share my headshot and now I am excited to, and everyone I show tells me they are GORGEOUS! I am sorry I waited so long - I highly, highly recommend!!
Pet Portraits - Everything that I said for my professional portraits stand for my pet portraits, but I wanted to make sure to add something specific about this experience because I am SO happy with these photos. I have 3 cats - all rescues - that are super afraid of new people and Yee's camera/lights, etc. In real life, it was a little difficult to get all three of my cats to sit still and look at the camera without them trying to get away. Yee is so good she managed to snap a bunch of photos that literally make it look like my cats are docile angels who love having their photos taken. The photos are so meaningful for me - I love them so much, I am getting them framed. I wish I would have done this with my cat who passed away! If you have a beloved pet, I can't recommend this enough :)”

“I worked with Yee on a pet photo shoot for one of my rescued cats, Ritchey, and it was such a great experience! I used Yee back in July 2022 for my first born, and she was so amazing that I had to ask her to come back again for my second born. Since this time I had a girl, O-M-G, her girl outfits are so cute!! See below for more details, as she is still amazing! Even post-COVID, she still wears masks and washes her hands beforehand to protect the newborn <3
July 2022:
Yee Lim Photography is amazing! At first, I didn't want to spend the money to take the newborn photos because to me, I thought most newborns look alike. However, my sister spent days to convince me to take pictures. I finally gave in, and I'm glad that I did it and have no regrets!
Before the photos: Yee was very responsive and responsible. Before we booked her, she had answered all of our questions and concerns. She recommended taking newborn photos asap / two weeks because it's easier to work with younger newborns.
During the photos: She was also very good about wearing masks to protect the client and especially the baby. All of the baby clothes are washed (I didn't see stains or weird stuff), and I'm impressed on how she organized her props and wraps. During our call, she said that taking photos generally takes about 4 hours but it ended up taking 6 hours because our baby was extra fussy. She didn't eat lunch or drink coffee and was very patient with the baby. She waited patiently for the right moment to capture pictures of our baby. She is also very optimistic and very easy to talk to!
After the photos: Again, she was very responsive and responsible. Usually I have to follow up with vendors about things, but she was so proactive! Quality was great.”

“Yee was such a pleasure to work with! I could tell right away she is very experienced in what she does. As a first time mom I felt comfortable with her handling baby and doing her thing! Her work is exceptional and she really takes her time to get the best shot. If you haven't booked your newborn photographer yet, save yourself some time and go with Yee! The quality of her work definitely shows in her pricing as well. Don't go with a cheap newborn photographer because chances are, they aren't experienced/trained with newborns. This job isn't something just any photographer can do. You want your baby to feel comfy and safe! I would give Yee my highest recommendation!”
